Pension basics
My Retirement, My Way (quarterly)
1. As a Babcock employee, you can join BRSS. Each month, you and Babcock contribute a percentage of your pay into your Personal Account. While you’re paying in to the Scheme, you’re known as an active member.
2. Your Personal Account is invested until you decide to take your funds – this normally happens when you retire or transfer to another pension arrangement. The value of your Personal Account may go up and down over time depending on how your investments perform. You can choose where your Personal Account is invested from a range of available funds.
3. When you retire, you’ll use your Personal Account to provide you with an income. The minimum retirement age is currently 55, although this is rising to 57 from 2028.
